Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. She is considered by many to be one of the most outstanding gymnasts. Biles was the first American female gymnast ever to win four gold medals in one Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she also became the first woman to win successive World All-Around championships. Biles grew up within Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area after she and her younger sister Adria had been adopted by grandparents Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone began to be interested in the sport of gymnastics when she was only six years old. Her coach Aimee Borman brought her to Bannon's Gymnastix and they took them for an excursion. Biles won a gold in the floor and bronze in vault at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010, before advancing to the elite level of competition in 2011. She was the most dominant in her sport just two years later. Her consistency, her vivacious personality and the level of challenge for her four events- vault uneven bars balance beam floor exercise and floor exercise -- made her out from the rest of the athletes.
